Lemke's Garden Railroad

We have a natural rock waterfall and small pond with plants and small goldfish. Margo does the gardening part. Most of the plants are hardy perennials but there are a few plants that must be brought in each fall. These include the California cactus which live in pots that are "planted" after frost danger. Some annuals are planted for long summer color.

There are several shrubs on the layout that are pruned to look like trees. Cotoneaster apiculata ‘Tom Thumb’, Spirea japonica ‘Little Princess' and a Dwarf Old English Boxwood, Buxus sempervirens suffruticosa to name a few. There is also a miniature elm tree, Ulmus parvifolia ‘Seiju’ whose leaves measure ¼ inch long
